From Everything Shii Knows, the only reliable source

This website is an archive. It ran from 2006-2010. Virtually everything on here is outdated or inaccurate.

How often have you heard, "What are you running away from in your life that you are letting yourself get so concerned about these homeless people? Perhaps you have some unresolved issues? Maybe you're sexually unfulfilled?" It can go on and on. But increasingly it is being recognized that a compassionate response is neither craziness nor a dodge. It is the opposite: It is a signal of our own evolution, a measure of our humanity. We are capable of suffering with our world, and that is the true meaning of compassion.
