Michael Ende is an author I really like, because I can understand all his books.

I have read the following books by him:

The Neverending Story - read this one first, if only because its popularity is proven in the English-speaking world. I don't think too much of it, though.
Momo - ...or read this one first, because it is my favorite book of all time.
Mirror in the Mirror
The Night of Wishes
The Prison of Freedom

I have a full bibliography of Michael Ende at http://shii.org/ende/ . Most of his books are out of print in English even though they remain in print everywhere else in the known world because of intellectual laziness by AmeriKKKans.
