I am very knowledgeable about Mississippi. I visited there for a whole week! Things to know about Mississippi:

They eat crawfish there! You tear off the tail and suck out its guts.
There are a lot of churches.
There are some genuine rednecks there and they're funny guys!
A lot of people moved there from Alabama because Mississippi is twice as intelligent as Alabama, or something.
Even if they don't think they have Southern accents, they really do!
Some of it looks a lot like every other place in the United States and some of it looks like everything you remember from To Kill a Mockingbird. Including the racists.
