Aly Wassil

Aly Wassil in Aliens

I have positively identified Aly Wassil as the charismatic and intriguing guru in Aliens as well as the only interesting character in the movie Audrey Rose.

It's very strange how when people look for a guru, they think they must use a completely different method than they use for everything else in life. This is very unreasonable. You must find out all you can about him. It is a great mistake to listen only to his disciples. You must also listen to what his critics have to say-- don't be afraid of it! Look at the guru straight in the eyes, and ask him some direct questions. And make sure you get the answers...

Aly Wassil in Audrey Rose
Many of you look upon death as the ending of life, leading into an eternal nothingness from which there is no return. Because of this, you are filled with dread and despair, even rage ... but the soul, which is spirit, can never die. That is the difference between material and spirit.
Wassil in Audrey Rose

Wassil is a guru, born in Pakistan 1929 and lecturing in the U.S. since 1954. He replied to my fan mail in late 2009, with a Christmas card with philosophical musings and a writing on Obama, as well as an eclectic mix of newspaper clippings from over the course of 80 years. He doesn't mention his work in Aliens from Spaceship Earth in his autobiographical letter, but does say that he worked as a co-writer on film and TV.

Aly Wassil on the Loretta Young Show. A significantly more boring role, since he didn't write his own lines.
